Full Moon 🌝 in Libra ♎

The Full Moon in Libra is an important time to look within, and to look at our relationships. Relationships not only with other souls or with things, but the relationship with oneself.

Libra is the sign of the scales, who teaches us that life is a balancing act. It is ultimately up to us to maintain harmony in ourselves, in our surroundings, and our relationships. Peace does come easy, it requires the conscious awareness of what is about to disturb our serenity, then cut it off at the stem before it begins a chain or reaction of emotional spiraling. The energy of Libra helps us define what harmony means to us, establish it, and then create an unbreakable container which protects one of our most precious resources, our ability to remain calm. *How ironic is this last sentence, it really tested me today when I literally had to retype this blog post after losing everything I typed.

On this Libra Full Moon, allow the plethora of relationship you have with yourself to come to the surface. We have a set of unique relationships with our body, our integrity, our creativity, and even the relationship with ourself. We also have a relationship with the energy we call and manifest in our lives. Often it is here we find the biggest blocks to our dreams.

Simply opening your mind to understanding you have an internal relationship with every energy is the first step to creating that inner balance and peace. Emotional intelligence is the ability to observe emotions through a developed awareness, then express those emotions in a constructive process both to ourselves and to others. Libra teaches us that to thrive in a relationship we must be able to see the world through another person's eyes. We need to understand that the whole is often made of two opposing views, and both can be correct.

On this Libra Full Moon, find ways to let go of any righteousness you may carry into a relationship. Take the time to understand people, and the way they may view the world. *This reminds me of my whole theme for this month self-reflection, being the mirror I would want to look through.

We have a chance to truly merge with another, to support them, and to raise each other's vibration together.

In order to truly understand how to work with the Moon during this time, we have to look at Aries and Libra together. The Sun is currently in Aries and the Moon is currently in Libra, they call these opposing signs.

Aries is the sign of the Self, it inspires us to align with our purpose and make following it our highest priority. Aries is bold, decisive, and takes action quickly based on instinct alone. Aries reminds us that we have the power to overcome any obstacle or challenge along the way. We are our greatest asset and never need to rely on anyone or anything else because we are all we would ever need.

Libra teaches us that while our life's mission is of great important as maintaining inner peace is the highest priority. Nothing is more important that maintaining inner harmony. Libra helps us cultivate inner peace and use it as our greatest tool during times of challenge. Libra also teaches us that our path is that much sweeter when shared with another.

To truly master the art of relationships, we need to understand the low vibrations of both Aries and Libra. When we become aware of these frequencies within ourselves, we can shift and release them.

Libra has two main shadows: indecision and passive-aggressiveness. Libra views the world as parts of the same whole, all equal. This view can lead to indecision because all choices are equal. Indecision can lead to anxiety because we inherently know that time is limited, and when we fail to make choices we delay our life and its journey. This anxiety eats away at our inner peace, disturbs our well being, and any relationship we may be in until we choose to begin and move forward again. At its lowest point, indecision can cause us to follow someone else's choice only to find out later we are unhappy and need to realign ourselves with our path. Some relationships can survive this readjustment, while others break under the pressure and the redirection of energy. Libra's other low side of passive-aggressiveness causes us to become manipulative as we try to control a situation without clearly stating our needs. When we align with this side of Libra, we may become stubborn, procrastinate, or even avoid people. We play games and cause drama where it is unneeded simply because we are afraid to express our true feelings. In some cases, the relationship does not hold space for us to share our emotions. These types of relationships need to be adjusted so that we feel safe expressing ourselves, or they need to be released. In other cases, we may have never learned how to clearly state our needs and felt that our only option was manipulation to acquire the energy we needed to feel supported in the world. If this is the case, awareness and compassion is the first step to understanding how these patterns were formed and then steps need to be taken to shift them. *I know this all too well! With my Sun being in Libra, some of the descriptions match up to some of the things I struggled with as a child. Coming from a home where I didn't have the luxury to freely express myself and/or find someone to share my thoughts and feelings with, I put too much emphasis and reliability on others on filling a void no one took the time to understand. And even if I did try to share those feelings, I was shut down with rejection and/or made fun of. It was pretty hard building relationships when I was younger, but now I understand that it was just an issue of setting up these expectations on others, and then feeling that disappointment when my standards weren't met. You cannot push these expectations on others, especially when you are not vocal on what exactly you need. You need to first be honest with yourself and then be honest with others.

We also need to look at Aries' low sides of selfishness and aggressiveness. Aries' low vibrations cause us to act without thinking, relying on pure instinct alone even if it means not including others in our decision. The lowest side of Aries is pure selfishness. When we align with this side, we forget we live in a world full of other people. We resist understanding other people's perspective. We disturb our inner peace with this selfishness and disrupt the people around us. We refuse to hear what others have to say and leave them feeling unheard and not respected. We cause an emotional havoc everywhere we roam. Aries' other low vibration is the aggressiveness with controlling behavior. When we align with this side, we become demanding, bossy, and overly assertive. We also intimidate others through yelling or asserting our power in a dominating way. This low side of Aries comes from our own internal conflict. When we align with these vibrations, we are war with ourselves. We project this aggression onto others and start unnecessary battles. We seek to win as a away to make ourselves feel better, but what we really need is to resolve our internal issues and restore inner harmony before engaging with another. *One thing that I'm currently trying to work on is viewing things from different perspectives. One thing we get so focused on is being right all of the time. We only focus on seeing what we want to see, that we refuse to see things differently. We also go through this aggression from things that we picked up in our childhood. Since I didn't know a better way of communicating, I had this domineering attitude of being in control of everything. It was definitely something I have refused to see, but now that I do I'm trying to shift that aggression into understanding and empathy.

I want you to ask yourself today:

Do I recognize any of these patterns in myself?

If you do, know that it is okay. You have an opportunity to shift these vibrations. Have compassion for yourself and know that this Full Moon is only opening up that opportunity for you to make a shift. Awareness is the first, and one of the hardest steps, but it leads to inner peace within yourself.

I had so much fun discussing this Full Moon in Libra with you. I love looking into how we can all evolve by using the Earth and Stars. We have an opportunity to grow and become the highest version of ourselves.
