Are You Being Relatable? 🤔

I love something that Ellen DeGeneres said on her 'Relatable' Stand Up on Netflix.

And if you haven't seen it, I recommend you do.

Besides it being hilariously funny, she also threw some awesome relatable stories in the mix. What made it even more awesome, that they were personal.

People seem to forget, that even though you view these people as having tons of money, that they're nothing like you. That you have to hold them on a golden pedestal and expect more from them just because of their "social status". NEWSFLASH! They are just like you!

They forget their towel just like you do, and run like a penguin trying to get it. They run out of toilet paper in the middle of wiping, no matter how much you pray it will be enough. They wear their bra or underwear until it's literally hanging on by threads.

Celebrities are humans!

I love how she used this time to give me an insight into how her "coming out" story went. And what's crazy is she didn't even have to do it!

Ellen shared how the inspiration to "come out" to the world started with just a dream. Her subconscious nudging her and revealing that deep down she knew she wasn't being her true self. No matter what you have, who you are, and what you do...if you're not living your true self, you will feel this nudge to do so, and it can manifest into your conscious mind in the most unthinkable way. Yes! Even like a dream!

Her dream was about holding a small bird and how she felt like the bird would be safe in this beautiful cage in front of her. However, when the bird flew into the cage it turned into an image of her. Little did she know she was staring into a mirror, therefore an image of herself. She didn't realize that she had any issue of her keeping to herself of who she truly was. She later realized that just as that bird could have escaped the cage by flying through the spaces of the bamboo cage, she too could escape the cage of her hiding her true self.

W O W! Isn't that a truly inspiring experience?!

We all can truly learn about this beautiful testimony she shared.

We all have things we keep to ourselves with fear of being judged by our decisions on the way we choose to live our lives. NEWSFLASH! They don't have a say in how you choose to live your life. They are merely opinions, and their version of how they would react to the situation you are in. It doesn't mean you have to follow it, because guess what? They are not the ones going through it right now.

Just as Ellen said, "we all here have our own path..." No two paths are the same. I've spoken about this in the past, and cannot stress it enough of just how accurate this is. Just because you and I may have gone through the same situation, there were different factors...our way of thinking, our perception and our way of reacting to a situation. So, that alone should be enough to make us all realize that our judgment of others is unfair. But hey, we are all here living a human experience, therefore, making mistakes.

Today, I want you to perceive how you are not being your true self.

How can you make it a priority, a commitment to yourself, to step out and be you?

Hiding yourself is doing a disservice to others. You know how? Because you could be the reason someone else decides to be their true selves. Someone seeing you being you, living life so genuinely happy and full of life, would divert them to want the same for themselves. How could we be selfish in keeping such an act that this world so desperately needs...an act of loving us just as we are!

Self love is the way to spreading more love into the world.

I had so much fun sharing this with you! If you would like to learn more on this topic, message me on Live Chat. To personally work with me, visit the Work With Me tab.
