The 30 Year Dash 🏃🏽‍♀️

I've officially entered the 30 year mark!

On October 21st, I was blessed with another year. I am forever grateful for this journey I've been on thus far.

My 20s was a journey for rediscovering my true self. It was an era of remembering what I was brought here to do. Through that journey I was met with hardship, lost, heartaches, give-ups, low vibes, and a whole bunch of tears. However, I was reminded that we hold our own pen to the book. You can choose someone else to be the author of your story, or you can choose to take a hold of that pen and write your own. I've let someone else hold that pen for so long. Hell, I even had several people rewrite a chapter several times...however, that is all changing once I've taken a hold of that pen.

This all reminds me of several scenes I've watched from 'Once Upon A Time', a show where everyone's story was a part of several versions of the "book". Henry was one of the many characters in charge of writing true events that happened in the character's life. He couldn't write something to make it happen or write something to try and change what did. That doesn't mean that several other characters in the show didn't try.

We are just like those characters in the show...

...we try so many times to change what happened in the past.

...we try to make something happen.

...we give someone else the power to write our story.

At 30, I'm glad I've learned that I have always held the pen to my story. I say this, because A LOT of people still have not come to this realization. People are still giving away their power by letting someone else write in their book. There is such a difference of a collaboration (where you are collaborating with souls you come across in your life) and just letting people dictate what is your next move.

I may sound nuts, but I'm looking forward to this next chapter in my life. One that I'm sure would provide some more tools and life lessons to continue on my journey. All of this is a learning experience as a human on this earth, and I plan to use it to my fullest advantage by enjoying it.
